NPQ for Headship
Chiltern Teaching School Hub is proud to work with Best Practice Network for the National Professional Qualification in Headship.
What is the NPQ for Headship?
Supporting teachers in their development can really help to move the practice forward and help students achieve better outcomes. Continuing professional development is at the heart of what improves teaching.
The NPQ for Leading Teacher Development is for teachers who have or are aspiring to have, responsibilities for leading the development of other teachers in their school. They may have responsibilities for the development of all teachers across a school or specifically trainees or teachers who are early in their careers.
How is NPQH delivered?
NPQH makes use of a blended delivery model consisting of face-to-face events, online study, webinars and coaching.
NPQH participants will attend 5 face-to-face events via the blended delivery model. Our nationwide delivery partnership network allows us to bring face-to-face training to a training centre in your region, facilitated by experienced school leaders and facilitators.
Participants access online learning and support via our virtual learning environment (VLE) Canvas. Through Canvas, participants are able to engage with learning communities of peers and access multimedia content. They can also access research and expert school-led practice aligned to the curriculum content for the qualification and receive high-quality feedback from experienced online mentors and in-school coaches.
